Has anyone every used the 'Gel' to remove surface rust from a car ??

They say it is suppose to dissolve the rust, how well will this work, I have surface rust, no holes, about 7 inches long. What else would I need ?

some rust inhibitors are in the form of a gel and they neutralize the oxidation that took place on the surface of the metal....often times turning it a dark/charcoal type color....

The popular brand is Rustoleum, and millions of people have used it. It's not a rust inhibitor. It's a rust remover.
