The idea behind the Blaire Witch Project was GREAT! Very creative...I mean look, there was basically no overhead...not alot of fancy special effects or gore...they just lead you along, letting your own mind jump back and forth...the babies crying at night...the cries for help...the little stick figure - voodoo doll deal...then in that house at the end, after hearing the story about how the guy killed his victims, by making them face the corner before he killed someone, then as the camera falls you see her friend in the corner...man that was trippy!! Great Question!

I did not care much for the movie. However as I have stated many times before....I feel that the advertising of the movie is what will make this movie go down in history.

With such a small budget, they were able to make people believe that it was real. Not just because of the way it was filmed, but the advertisements. They did had a very good Internet stradegy.

And many movies are beginning to use this technique and strategy. One that is current is the movie that is going by the code of "Cloverfield".... If you do not know what this is you best go check it out.

When I first went to see it I had no idea it was fake for at least a week or two and I was pretty scared after wards and I was 19 and grew up on horror movies. So I do believe it was an execlent movie that was well thought out to the last detail to make you think it was real. It wasn't until it leaked out that it was fake that everyone started calling it stupid.

I thought it was a brilliant Idea that was many years before its time. You have to realize that this movie came out before there was a "reality" genre. It was so different and unique that almost everyone bought into the possibility that it was real.

The only mistake they made was to do an appearance on MTV. Up until then, most people thought it was real.

Now we look back and it seems kind of silly, but back then it was ground-breaking.

From the film makers point of view? Very brilliant!!! As a viewer, one has to NOT know that it was all fake to appreciate the movie.

To put it one way, I really hoped I had the genius of the film makers way back then.

It is the most profitable movie in cinema history! Yep, the movie is now crappy. But if you have to watch the movie, watch it not for its storyline but on why it once sold like crazy way back then

The whole thing is fake because if they found the video and made it out of the forest to show the movie to everyone else why couldn't the kids do the same thing? Also their in a forest seriously just walk one direction any direction and eventually it'll come to an end it's like a corn field.

When it first came out, it was pretty creepy. Nothing like that had ever been done before. Also, none of the actors were out promoting the movie, so there was the element of "it could be real", too.
