I always thought it was oure bulls h i t.

As long as both people are single what's the problem. I always looked at the two equal. What's wrong with a woman wanting to be sexual the same way men do.

The two should be equal, but as I have seen it, it is a notch up on the board for the man to have conquered so many woman.
With the woman, she is feminine so as society thinks she should have more morels.
You also usually find it is a female calling a chick that sleeps with a lot of men a ho, not the male, could that be jealousy?

The double standard has never made sense to me either, until I began studying ancient history-- in many cultures, ppl were deeply indoctrinated to despise women who were even *suspected* of having sex before, or outside of their marriage. This was for practical & economic reasons-- most men wanted to be absolutely certain that any children they were raising were their own. While this may have been understandable in much earlier times, now we have efficient contraception & DNA testing so that's not so much of an issue. Still, the double standard seems to prevail & I think it's nothing but outdated patriarchal propaganda, maybe with a bit of male insecurity thrown in. If one gender shouldn't be having sex, then neither should, or if it's fine for one it should be fine for both. Simple logic.
It just occured to me that ppl with same-sex orientations don't need to worry about this double standard-- could this be why the mainstream culture finds other excuses to marginalize them?
Ok, guess I'll hop down from my soap-box & go home now.

It is a wrong and unfair tendency to malign women solely because they sleep around while "idolizing" men who do the very same - it is a generalization but I'd say that the women who do so probably have more compassion/consideration than the men who do so.

In any case, I don't agree with either men or women "sleeping around" whether or not they use "protection"; it is not what sex was meant for nor is it ultimately healthy for anyone to do so.
