slope is given by

y2 - y1/(x2 - x1) =

13 - 3/( 5 - x) = 0.8

10/(5 - x) = 0.8

crossmultiply

10 = 0.8(5 - x)

10 = 4 - 0.8 x

0.8 x = -10 + 4 = -6

x = -6/0.8 = -60/8 = -15/2 = - 7.5

the value of the slope is equal to the change in y over the change in x.
0.8=(13-3)/(5-x)
multiply both sides by (5-x) to get rid of the fraction:
0.8(5-x)=13-3
0.8(5-x)=10
then distribute
4-0.8x=10
solve for x
x=-7.5

Slope of a line = (y1-y2)/(x1-x2)

(13-3)/(5-x) = 0.8
10 = 0.8 (5-x)
10 = 4 - 0.8x
6 = -0.8x
x = -7.5

y=mx+b (m=slope, b=y-intercept)

Plug in (5,13) and .8 and solve for b:

13=(.8)(5)+b
13=4+b
9=b

Plug in (x,3), .8, 9 and solve for x:

3=(.8)x+9
-6=.8x
-7.5=x
