governments are made up of politicians. politicians are intrinsically evil. evil people have no business regulating items that can be deadly.

Though the politicians would have you believe otherwise, self defense is a human right, given by God to people. it is just as important as the right to life, liberty, and property.

I think that they are a lot of malicious people all over the World that do not take into consideration when they want to end someones Life. so, I think that Yes, the Government should regulate Gun control, and should take even a lie detector test to ensure the validity of the person that is buying a Gun or who owns a Gun.Where My family and I reside, what separates us from Mexico, is the Rio grande, which means big River, as a lot of people know, there have been a lot of kidnapping,in our Town, since the drug cartels that are located in Nuevo Laredo, Mx. are infiltrating to our side of the River, Thanks to the Bush Administration, who are trying to give free reign, to the Illegals, some of the Drug Lords Live here and are raising havoc on our side, so, what a lot of us American People are going to do is Purchase A gun for self preservation, and for the protection of our Family. My views are that there should be Gun control and since the new Law came into effect of letting anyone buy a Gun for thier Security, I do think they should scrutinize everyone who buys one. I do not care if I do not get a best answer, I just want my views to be known.

By definition, criminals who use guns with criminal intent have no intention (or inclination for that matter) of adhering to the law where usage or ownership of guns is concerned. With that as a starting point, I submit only two alternatives.

1. Responsible gun ownership is allowed and encouraged by the populace, with conceal/carry laws for people without criminal backgrounds.

2. The government knocks on every door and shakes down every single person to confiscate all the guns. Then the government has all the guns and the people have nothing.

I believe the latter to set the stage for tyranny like we've never seen on this planet. The first scenario gaurantees we stay a free nation, and a nation of laws. Government by the people FOR the people. Not a government lording over us as defenseless minions.

I did a paper on this last semester! I think that gun control should be watched carefully. I think they should step up because there are too many young people with guns nowadays and are using it for the wrong reasons. They should crack down on the gun stores and make sure they check id's and keep lists of everyone who's bought a gun just in case the government might need it. I also believe the age should be changed closer to 30ish because those who are 21 are still in college and some still want guns for no reason at all. Some do. I've heard people talking about it. I think that government should really crack down and be stricter with the rules.

The US is an odd country in that many of the arguments made to advocate for gun rights are so unnecessary. Many countries exist without citizens owning guns and still can maintain a democracy. The US is a violent nation on all counts. The view of gun rights is part and parcel of this violence.

If someone can carry a gun for protect from a citizen or the government, I want a needle with ebola or a nuke in my backyard. Deterence is deterence after all. You might not trust my aim with a gun, but a jab with some ebola virus will stop you.

The need for citizens having guns is a problem of culture and the failure of government to provide adequate protection through policing. Any government official or soldier prepared to use force against a fellow citizens, well, gun control is the least of your problems in that case.

We have the right to bear arms. It is in the constitution. Our forefathers fought for this right. I believe I will keep my rights. Whether I exercise those rights, or not, is up to me, not the government. Don't you think we have already given up enough of our rights?

Besides, even if it were illegal to have guns it wouldn't stop the bad guys from having them. This being the case, what is the point?

2nd ammendment..........we already have laws that are suposed to restrict fellons from purchase, we arent allowed full auto rifels, there are lots of restrictions on us already, a better choice would be criminal control not gun control, when someone gets a dui do people say we should illegalize cars and beer? if firearms were illegal do you realy think it would stop the ones who break laws from breaking them.
