Although even the nearest stars are so far away that their shape cannot be resolved....... it takes only a few photons to be visible to a good telescope and a few hundred to be visible to the eye..... so we see stars as 'points of light'. They emit a lot of photons, so we pick them up and see them.

because its a sphere which means that light goes every direction and plus it has a lot of energy to do so

Like will go forever until something stops it. It just gets more and more spread out (dimmer).
