Avoid the trolls and questions that bait. Ask questions that matter, don't call people names. Live up to standards and don't lower yourself to the level that many others do.

give the issue at hand some good thought and then explain how you feel about it. Don't try to bait others with your reply, just say what is on your mind.

Ask questions and answer them as honestly as you can. Don't generalize people into groups. Use words like "some" and "many" rather than implying "all" if you must mention people who aren't in the same line of thinking as you are.

Use various media sources as your examples... don't hole yourself up with just one. It is always good to have something to reference your point of view. In this case with the www, it would be most helpful to provide a link, if you can find one.

Try not to let the trolls get you down. There are good people from both sides on here.
