There are so many wives tales, like the previous posters mentioned.
Others I have heard are: if a toddler aged child is drawn to a woman, she is pregnant but does not yet know.
If a young boy does not want to go to a pregnant woman, she is having a girl.
If the mother spends too much time in bed or sitting down, her child will be lazy.
Fetal heart rate can indicate your baby's sex, as can the shape and fullness of your face during pregnancy.
Pregnant women shouldn't reach their arms too far over their heads, or take baths.

If your stomach is round it is a girl, if it's pointed its a boy.
If you have heart burn the baby will have lots of hair.
If you put a pendulum over your stomach and let it swing, if it swings back and forth it's a boy. But if it swings in circles it's a girl...

I think you may be referring to old wives' tales.
My all time favorite : "Don't look at ugly things while you are pregnant, because you can mark the baby & it will look just like that ugly little toad."
If the father is an ugly toad, so be it...

Don't watch a movie with dwarfs/midgets. The baby will be born a dwarf/midget!

some said if a woman carried "high" it woulldbe a boy.some said if she got scared or saw something bad, the baby would have a birthmark.
