We're thinking of going sometime between october and january. Whats the weather like these times of year?
Also we wanted to buy christmas presents, whats the mall selection like? My previous american mall experience has been orlando, some great malls there.

We go to LV for a few weeks(3 this year) in December to take advantage of the super low room rates. We have been doing this for more than 20 years. You sometimes have temps in the 70's and a nice sunny day(shorts & t-shirt) type weather, then again somedays it will be around 50 cloudy and windy. Nights are often in the 30's but seldom get really/really cold

Depends on what your budget is.
On the strip there is Fashion show mall which is more like a regular mall, has good stores though.
Also check out the forum shops in Cesaers Palace & the shops in the Venetian also on the strip.
Make sure to go to the Outlet mall thats about 5mins north of the stip...good shopping there too!.

Definetly hit the outlets, there i sone right off the strip (10 min cab ride) or there is one about 40 minutes away. Both are excellent!

it will be chilly in the early morning but temps run a round 40's 50' in the day
