I was homeless a few times off & on but I'm glad I never lived on the streets. I stayed in shelters. I became homeless for a little while after Hurricane Katrina & I was homeless for 8 mos. in New York living in a shelter & being treated like trash.

About a year... when I was 17. I lived in an abandoned hotel... I was pretty naive back then, and to see how many people just flat out hated me because I had no where to call home was really disappointing.

Two years the first time and now 3 and a half the second time. I avoid shelters and make do with my car because I have two dogs I've adopted. The one is 12 now and when she passes, I'll consider getting a place but for now we get by on the streets.

wow! the last time that i was homeless was when i was 16 on and off through my childhood until i had a child of my own saved my life keep ypur head up kiddo! and good luck

I haven't been homeless (at least not yet) but my sister feels that I would be homeless if I moved out of my parents' home.
