oh sorry, I mean emo music.

One example is "Welcome to the Black Parade" by MCR....but now when you think of it, they're not a rock band.

Rock and roll exhausted it's real potential 20 years ago and since then it has had to thrash about wildly in a never-ending search for novelty,meaning something that hasn't been done before,many times. These days they're really scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to new ideas.

I rarely hear about cutting in an actual rock song. Dying? Only occasionally and not as a result of cutting.
Can you list any songs as examples of this?

That's only some rock. Defiantly not all. But people today are more dramatic than they used to be.
