I agree with everyone else on the weather front...............Impossible to predict!

But things to do? It depends on what your interests are but There are many fun things to do in the city. The North End is our "Little Italy" and there are amazing Italian restaurants there to choose from as well as bakery's. Strega is a great restaurant on Hanover Street. Good Italian food and atmosphere You can go to www.stregaristorante.com. And Paul Revere's house is right there. Pizzaria Regina ( 11 1/2 Thatcher Street ) is the best pizza in Boston. The wait staff is rude but that is part of the charm and experience.

Faneuil Hall is a short walk from the North End. You can do a lot of shopping there with all your typical shops. There are many pubs and restaurants there as well. There are almost always street performers to entertain you and it also has the Holocaust Memorial that is quite moving.

If you cross the street and head up the stairs from there you are in Government Center. Stroll through City Hall Plaza and take a right onto Cambridge Street and a left onto Bowdoin and you will find yourself at the State House and Beacon Hill. Across the street from the State house is Boston's Public Garden. There you can ice skate on the Frog Pond and then nip across the street to Cheers ( a tourist favorite ) for a drink.

If you are Irish and looking for a great pub, don't bother with the Purple Shamrock and the other chain pubs. The best is in South Boston ( my hometown! ) called the Blackthorn on Broadway. It's so much fun on a Saturday night but not glitzy and there are almost no Americans in it at all. Irish owner, staff and patrons. It's also very fun on a Sunday afternoon as they show all the GAA, Rugby and Football on Setanta.

And don't forget Harvard Square in Cambridge. Lots to do and see there. Newbury Street in Boston for people watching and even more shopping! And the waterfront for the aquarium and Legal Seafoods for a great meal after looking at all those fish!

Don't go into the following neighborhoods: Roxbury, Mattapan (also called Murderpan ) and certain parts of Dorchester. If you don't know where you are going in Dorchester just avoid it all together. Make sure you get familiar with the subway routes and stops.

I hope this helps and that you have a great time here in Boston!

Dec. could be extremely cold or very mild the weathy is changes rapidly. Go to Fanuiel Hall, shopping on Newbury street and the Copley and Prudential Mall in the same location. Visit the museums and historic places there are tons to see. Paul Revere House, tour of Harvard University, Isabella stewart Gardener Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, Observation deck of the John Hancock building, USS Constitution like I said there's tons to do, you won't be bored.

Ride the "Duck Tour" its about $25 per person. It might still run in December and it gives you a very good tour of Boston

December weather is hard to predict. Some years it's very mild with temps as warm as 60 F! Other years it's freezing, and even could have snow or sleet.

As far as things to do, it depends on your interests. I really suggest trying to see as many historical sites as possible, because you'll get such a great feel for how the United States was formed!
