80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.
So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.
To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

To experience, act with knowledge.Use what gifts are given to me ,mentally, emotionally and physically.Live and achieve something constructively each day, then at the end of life maybe I can say 'I have done my best" .Even then the older one grows, one says" I don't know",so truly none of us will know the meaning of life, because everything in life is an illussion,we believe this or that about life but delude ourselves,we conclude but in the end ,conclusion is a delusion!

Maybe a more accurate question would be, does life have a predetermined purpose? That leads into the question as to whether god or just as likely god"s" exist.
Most people have "faith" - a term that means believe without evidence - in the religion they were born in to. Of course, there's no way to prove the existence of god(s) or lack of - unless you want to count that "warm" feeling you might get.
So with this absolute uncertainty, those of us who want a purpose must create our own.

Depends on what you mean by meaning of life.
Real meaning comes from living for a real purpose. Real purpose can only come from God.
If not from God, then there is no purpose and no meaning but we can think of things to keep us occupied. Even condemned criminals can laugh and joke all through the night and thus be distracted from thinking about the execution in the morning.

If you really, really, really cared you'd read the other 3,012,455 responses to the 244,675 times an identical question has been posed on Yahoo! Answers.
(However, you might wish to note most of those other questioners managed to master the use of the apostrophe before tackling "the big one".)

Well, I think that love is the meaning of life. And I am sorry if this is not what you had in mind while posting this question. Sorry, but I don't think that I should lie just to please you.
