Actually, yes...can you hold on for a moment while I go ask my brother-in-law? He's an expert at announcing his ignorance to the entire world...

Because the trend these days, like it or not, is to strip away more and more *and more* of someone's privacy until there is no such thing as a "private life" left. Between employers attacking worker's health plans over things like diabetes and being overweight (basically trying to dictate lifestyles) and Internet Service Providers settling for "pretty good security" so that Big Brother, empowered by the Patriot Act, can snoop freely....anyone who thinks they can keep "their ignorance" or anything else a secret is actually more "daft" than the rest of us.

Simply put. We don't even own our own *lives* as people anymore. *Anything* about us can be sneaked and peeked at any time, so....

Be proactive about it, put yourself *out there* in the vain hopes that a) at least *copyright law* will afford you some protection, and b) if you get the *good news* about yourself out there first, at least then the *bad news* won't be so terrible *when it hits*.

*When*, not if. That's the pisser.

Thanks for your time. ^_^

There would be about 3 people on Yahoo Answers if people didn't enjoy announcing their ignorance to the world.

All of us want to be Happy.
One can only be happy if accepts oneself for what one truly is.
If one has associated oneself with ignorance, then one will be happier knowing that this is his state of being rather than an imperfection that needs to be changed.
By his/her ignorance to the world, he/she is trying to make ignorance societally acceptable, because then it will be easier for him/her to accept him/herself on a personal level.
