Nope. In a few years, you should be in college, where they'll try to sell you a ring, too. Your HS ring will be a sign of your hanging on to HS memories, which in college, will be a sign that you're not casting off your past and forming yourself. Seriously, unless HS is the greatest experience you've had in your life, prior to turning 21, put the $500 in a CD or something, and don't touch it. Watch your money grow, and by the time you're out of college, you'll be able to take a cool trip out of the country with your friends.
Odds are, your hands will still grow some, and the thing won't even fit you in a few years. I think mine never fit me, it was either too big or too small...and the only time it did fit, I wasn't interested in wearing it. The only time you'll probably miss HS is never, and the only time you'll be interested in revisiting that past is at reunion time.

That's a LOT of money for something you will NEVER wear. Seriously I spent like 800 bucks on my High School ring and maybe wore it once. A Junior High one is really not worth it.

I didn't wear my high school ring very long & feel bad because my dad wanted to get me a nice one.
I recommend spending a bit less on your high school ring because no one I know wore their rings for very long. (i.e. Not past freshman year in college at the most.)
One of the previous answers that suggested you save your money is good one. Set it aside & let it earn interest.

I would have to say no!!! Because you are asking that question, I don't think you think it is worth it either!! . Most people in college think it is really lame if people wear their class rings from high school (same goes for lettermans jackets, etc....)

Buy it! A class ring is a great investment because it is like a reminder of all of yr friends from HS.

Wait until high school. Graduating from junior high just doesn't have the same meaning as graduating from high school. You aren't going to wear it to high school, right?

if it doesn't put you in any financial strain or hardship, i would certainly get it... though mine wasn't as expensive as yours, i still have it (class of '88)... one thing to think about... if you are going to college, you may want to spend less on your high school ring and invest more in your college ring... just a thought, though
