ignore those who cant read or understand plain english. lucas neill deliberately obstructed grosso and while the contact may not hae been enough to break his knee, he was subtly trying to make REASONABLE contact to impede his progress in rounding him. Lucas Neill made all the contact to help grosso fall, and he was MAKING CONTACT WITHOUT REACHING the ball IN ANY WAY!!!

accordign to FIFA RULES, a PK is awarded for impeding a player in such a way. it is the AUSTRALIANS that CHEATED!!!! they made it to the WC by FLUKE and SOMEHOW THOUGHT THEY WERE GONNA WIN IT!!!

edit: just watch Lucas Neil trying to lift himself while grosso is rounding him. he lifts his upper half of the body to obstruct and people who dont know ANYTHING about football, or those WHO ARE BLIND will think it was not a foul!!! guess what, the REFEREE WAS NOT BLIND!!! AND

The Aussies were new to the WC, and were full of bravado. Lotsa people forget that Italy had to play most of that game w/10 men. Ya gotta be humble in these games, if you go around boasting and then whining, besides being a loser, you look like a crybaby! Look at Oz and their "splendid" performance in the Asia Cup! They were talking trash big-time before that event, and what happened?
They SUCKED!
Who are the Ozzies blaming for that early exit???

BTW, w/regards to the WC, if the Aussies want to "blame" anyone, blame the ref.
If Australia had been given the same penalty, same circumstances, would they have said, "oh no...we don't want the PK. PLEASE, take the ball back." HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
They lost- get over it Ozzies! enough! teams lose, and you guys lost! Play in a few more World Cups, and then you can say you were "robbed" - what the hell did Australia think, they were going to be World Champs? HA!

Now, look at Portugal....they got ROYALLY screwed by the ref vs the frenchies-the ref totally won the game FOR the french "diving" team (which made me hate the faux-french even more). But Portugal has not gone on and on and on and on about that game. It's over and done with, and they will get revenge at some point, that's the way football is. Oz simply has no "football pitch cred," not enough world experience to keep constantly whining like babies.

Has it occurred to you that Neil is on the ground trying to shield his head from Grosso, who is coming right at him instead of jumping over him or going around? You can't even see the alleged hand grabbing Grosso's foot. Grosso didn't even try to "round him" as the video suggests. It is more like trying to go through Neil and make contact. It should not have been a penalty.

if you watch real close,you'll also notice him leaning his upper torso backwards into Grosso's legs.....btw good job...............
