Its all about partisan politics.Most cons don't care about the troops.They are using them.We all know this was an unjust war.That is why there was no coalition.Its ashame our troops and their families have had to suffer.

To Mel-I have many friends who have been to Iraq.They are very angry they were sent there with no true mission and no coalition to back them up.You can thank Bush for that since he didn't seem to care that he was putting our troops in the middle of a mine field for no good reason.I hope your son returns home safetly

To back Mel up who is my friend, she has first hand experience as having a son in Iraq. I do agree with you though, politics can get in the way of things and curve america's view of the war in iraq. We are doing a lot better than everyone thinks.

People get upset about what they don't like.

Most people actually cannot comprehend how dangerous and harmful it is to go back into a battle when you are still exhausted and wounded from their last deployment. So, to many people, the mandatory rest period isn't an important issue.

Besides, it's easier to attack someone you don't like than it is to find a solution to a problem -- and that applies on both ends of the spectrum. Your post, for example, spends more time attacking people you disagree with than proposing solutions. You can do better. The choice is up to you.

I have listened and I have heard no republican denigrate Mr. Webb's amendment except to say that it is unconstitutional or that they would like to vote for it but it is tied to a backdoor deal that they won't tolerate.

I'd be more interested in why Obama cut & ran rather than voting seeing that he was present 15 minutes prior to the vote. Is that the kind of chickenhearted president he'd be? Far to afraid of moveon to state his opposition.
