Like for my son's pirate costume I bought him a skull bucket, and for his samurai costume I made him a Japanese monster bucket, and for his medieval costume I made him a medieval woolen draw-string sack, and for his Bruce Lee costume I'm planning to make the severed head of Kareem from Game Of Death, and for his Star Trek costume I'm planning to make a bucket that looks like a tricorder, or for an Am. Indian costume a bucket shaped like the head of a buffalo or a least a leather pouch?

Or do you just carry around any old free plastic sack, or the same plastic pumpkin as last year, or a pillow case?

Good question!

I'm an adult, 50, and I've been going to the Greenwich Village Halloween Parade in NYC for most years since 1985. Sometimes I try to match my bucket to my costume. (Yes, I do trick-or-treat a little in stores.) For instance, when I dressed up as the Whore of Babylon two years ago in red and purple, I chose to carry a purple jack-o-lantern rather than an orange one. When I dressed up as a hippie, I carried a yellow Happy Face bucket.

I think what you do is wonderfully creative! I hope your son enjoys it, too.
