I start or restart my pc and it says impropper shutdown detected and goes straight into thorough scan disk?

it doesn't complete the scan propperly and I get no signal in my moniter. I've tried system restore and using the start up disc. Any ideas as to what the problem is and how to fix it??

This happens when you do not shutdown properly. Before shutdown, we should save any open work and close all open programs, then "shutdown." Anything else will give this message.

This happens to me all the time at work when I have to work in an old DOS program (which is being reprogrammed and updated as I write) and exit to Windows. It is maddening.

May I suggest you go the whole route:
1. Go into Safe Mode and run your antivirus program. If it comes up clean, at least you will know that is not where the problem lies.

go in to ur task manager and stop some of the programmes from starting when u start up right click on ur task bar at the bottom and select task manager and stop some of the stuff that is starting up when u reboot delete ur virus scan and get a new virus scan i use avg its free on line and is good
