Love, and the meaning of it is sleeping.
He doesn't want to disturb it {think about it}, because of all the painful memories that will bring.

Love is sleeping in his memory.

He's saying that love caused him pain and caused him to cry, so he'll let love sleep in his memory--that is, he won't let himself love another person ever again.

..well i guess what the SLEEPING in the song means that love has been sleeping or his/her lovelife is a bit inactive!
i think he/she dont want to recall the pain he/she been through before..

It seems to me he's saying that those memories have been repressed and he doesn't want to think about them any more because it's painful.
