I'm on a team that is building a robot at my high school. This guy who thinks hes smart but is not really has become the self appointed leader, only recognized by him. No one else likes him but we did let him make the design for the arm.
He designed his arm and it doesn't look like it will function really well but it does look like it can make babies...It looks just like a penis but he doesn't even realize it. What should we do?

tell him you hate his guts and his design looks like penis. and then kick his *** out of the group.

Does your group have a mentor/ coach whose opinion would carry more weight than this guy? maybe you can approach him with the situation and force a new design on this guy.
or maybe suggest that the group should work on two designs simultaneously in case 'one doesn't work well'. get with a prefered designer before making the suggestion so that you have an alternate plan ready to put forward.

Change your meeting time/location and forget to tell him
Robot building is serious stuff, don't let somebody mess it up.
