Yes, the Bronfman family, a Jewish family whom I believe were the owners of Seagram's, at one time they were the largest distillers of alcohol in the world and were based in Montreal. Crown Royal Whisky and Captain Morgan's Rum are Seagram's brands I believe.

Bob..........different branch of the same family. Edward and Peter bought the Canadiens from Thomas and Hartland Molson in 1971.

Charles Bronfman, longtime owner of the Montreal Expos was the Seagram's guy. Charles' Dad Samuel...was the brother of Allan, the father Edward and Peter. Allan took his liquor money and went into broadcasting.
