He'd have an even more fearsome repuation because he'd be pissed all the time when he got no signal in the middle of the ocean. On a lighter note though, the crewmen would have mp3's to listen to while they swab the decks.

The question is not what if he had a blackberry, the question is what if he didnt. he did nothing with it because a blackberry is a communication device and with no one to communicate with it was useless.
