I worked for minimum wage for three months at a pizza place...never again since. People keep harping on a "living wage". If you "live" off minimum wage for very long, you personally have a problem!

Yes. When I was in High School and just starting out in college. By my 2nd year of college, I made a few bucks more than the minimum wage.

Personally, I think the idea of a government enforced minimum wage is stupid and actually hurts the poor and the middle class. The cost of hamburgers go up. McDonald's hires less people. The quality of the hamburgers go down.

Let the free market decide these things, not government!

Of course I did. Most people do when they first start working. It was *never* intended to be a "living wage".

And wolf is 100% correct. The Democrats love to raise the minimum wage, so they can say, see? We really *do* care about you...but the minimum wage increase only hurts the small business owners. McDonalds, etc can handle the increase easily. It shuts down some Mom and Pop businesses.

No, but there have been times in my life when I wasn't making all that much more than that. For the record, I strongly disagree with the implied assumption that anyone working for minimum wage for any extended length of time is to blame for their own predicament. Financial struggle isn't necessarily a sign of stupidity and/or laziness, any more than wealth and influence are necessarily a sign of tremendous intellect or a solid work ethic.

Yes, of course. While in high school for one year and while in college for, oh, I'd say two or two and a half years. In college, though, I was working more than one job, plus I lived in Montana, which is not a state know to give out high wages.

Yes, when I was young and learning, first as a student in high school, and then paying my own way through a vocational school. After graduating from a vocational school I did work and receive much better pay. However, this was only another stepping stone to further my education to achieve a higher degree.

I worked for close to minimum wage for one summer, and it was completely not worth it. But if it's your first job, then the experience comes in handy.
