It was meant to be a reference to the way someone thinks. Of course this is in general and does not apply to everyone. Example a 50 year old thinks the way a 40 or thirty used to think about two decades ago. It kind of hard to explain how it got started except it may have started by referencing the same saying as “Blue is the new Black”. It’s really a point of view and like I said it does not apply to everyone. Also it is meant to make someone feel younger then they are.

I believe it means that people are now living much longer than they did even a few years ago. It's also a state of mind. We have it easier as far as state of the art items that make life better for us go. In general, we know a lot more about how to take care of our bodies than we did years ago. I think it's a combination of those things.

To me it simply means that people today act and feel younger than people of the same age felt and acted ten or twenty or thirty years ago. I think it is partly a product of the "baby boomer" mentality and way of life. I'm one of them! :)

People don't want to acknowledge that they are getting old. Advertising has everyone brainwashed that youth is the only ones who count. Balderdash! I'm 62 years old and I'm proud of everyone one of my gray hairs that I have EARNED!
