Since the fence did little to improve security, why should we keep paying for it? Aren't there some military projects with the same problem? Should we keep paying for them also? "Congress ordered the high-tech fence in 2006 amid a clamor over the porous border, but the project yielded only 53 miles of protection." It's a damn shame when people don't even read their own sources before posting questions. When did Obama become president? Oh yeah 2008. Last I checked 2006 came BEFORE 2008. Bush himself said we had automatic weapons to keep the border secure. So, was it the REPUBLICAN "plan to waste 1 billion building a fake virtual fence." Rewriting history and altering facts seems to be a Conservative/Republican past time.

It is a quick inefficient fix. A fence deals with the symptom, not the cause. Until either the US comes up with a work force that is legal and willing to do the jobs that undocumented immigrants do or the situation in Mexico improves to a degree that staying there is preferable to risking your life to try to cross the border and work in the US illegally, there is going to be a problem with illegal immigration. I don't think that a fence is going to do either of those things.

Unless the u.s.a. has hired plenty of people to stand guard 24/7 every sOo many feet or yards.. That invisible fence seems like a great idea !!?!! I just hope that the Mexican PEOPLE are well informed about its capabilities before erecting one !! & ofcourse less guards may be needed then !?!

Yeah and we could use illegals to build it and then after they are done we could kick them out. Ofcourse the whole time they were building it we could tell them that for doing so they would earn their citizenship.
