I'm on prom comittee this year, and we're thinking of having a 'royal ball' type theme, and we need ideas of how to decorate for it. can anybody think of any movies that have fairytale-esque/grand balls so we can try and get some ideas?

...my favorite classic screwball comedy road race film, from 1964, called "The Great Race", contains a sequence where the competing racers travel through a beautiful and striking 1920's Europe; once there, they break from the race, and get caught up in hilarious intrigue, suspenseful notions and mistaken identity, associated with a clueless and wacky prince, due to attend a coronation, in order to proclaim him king...

...during this most comical respite, there is an incredibly grand and lavish ballroom scene, replete with expansive dance halls, exquisitely detailed costumes and wide-sweeping waltzes...

...you might just find much of what you're looking for, in this particular film...and the movie itself, is pretty funny and exciting...

...give it a go; check out the webpage, below!!!

The Princess Diaries movies I think have balls in them. Maybe one of the Cinderella like movies like Ella Enchanted or roger and hammerstein's Cinderella. Or the Prince and Me or the Prince and Me 2 might have one.

Well, in Pride & Prejudice they do. It's not quite "fairy-tale" material, but it's set in the 1800's in Britain. I think you'd like the movie (it's a nice, fairly realistic romance) and the ball scene is pretty.
