The metal frame is a bit rusted, will it come off automatically when I snowboard this season? I am afraid of damaging the board by putting chemicals on the board. Thanks

Go out on the mountain, and make a bunch of good, hard super-g turns, that should take the rust off. Then it will re-appear the next day, so go out and do it again.

Get yourself one of those green 3M scrubbie pads. You can use that to remove rust buildup on the edges of boards and skis. Don't use sandpaper because you could scratch up the deck more than it probably already is. I use one scrubbie to get rid of the rust (it takes a little bit of effort) and another one witha little 3-in-1 oil after the rust is off to help keep the edges from rusting more. But expect it to rust if you don't dry the board after you use it.

If it is really rusty it most likely needs a tune-up anyway. Take it to the shop and have them give you a good wax and tune. You'll most likely drop about $30 on it, but it's worth it.

you probable have saved your board in an area with extreme humidity. flow it someplace the place the humidity is low. you are able to avert this from happening via holding it dry and in a dry section for storage. only take a gummy stone to the part and it will get rid of the rust.
