A Donkey and a Burro are the same. It is also called an A--, (YA won't print this word, but this is not a bad word when used for a donkey.) (burro is Spanish)
A Jackass is a male donkey.
A Mule is the offspring of a male horse (stallion) and a female donkey (jenny). It is bigger and stronger than a donkey yet more sure-footed and gentle (on average) than a horse.
Horses and donkeys are closely related but are different species. Their close relationship allows them to mate and produce the hybrid mule, but since they are different species, mules cannot reproduce.

A mule is a domesticated, hybrid animal that results from crossing a mare (female horse) and a jack (male donkey).
A donkey is a domesticated jackass.
A burro is a small donkey that is often used as a pack animal because it is particularly sure-footed.
A jackass is a wild four-footed, hoofed mammal related to the horse, but smaller, with longer ears and a shorter mane, shorter hair on the tail, and a dark stripe along the back.

It's the same and yes they are all descended from horses, the thing that makes donkeys and horses different is the number of chromosomes they carry in their DNA.
