Why are they running? We don't have a draft. There is nothing to be scared of!
"The Number of Americans Moving to Canada in 2006 Hit a 30-Year High"
"They're coming because many of them don't like the politics, the Iraq War and the security situation in the U.S. By comparison, Canada is a tension-free place. People feel safer & we have free stuff that liberals like."

It's just that my house is on the way to Canada and I am tired of them parking their Prius's on my lawn and littering their trail mix packets and Zima bottles all over the place!

If you looked at the facts you would see that the people moving out are middle class and educated.
When a country that has always been a destination becomes unwanted to those people, that means that something bad' s going on.
But to answer this provocative question: they leave to a better social system that keeps a protecting net under them and to a less dangerous (by all means) environment

Please show me where it specifically states that those going to Canada are liberals. There are some who don't like the oppression of the Bush Administration and the lack of jobs under Bush. The brain drain of better educated leaving the country will make this a nation of C students. Maybe that is Bush's goal so he looks better. Canada doesn't have the so called "patriot" act to deal with. Some people apparently feel safer and freer in Candad. What does that say for the nation that is supposed to be the best and safest and most prosporus nation in the world?

Liberals are not running from an imaginary draft. Historically conservatives are more likely to dodge a draft than liberals.
The "free stuff" that liberals want are things that we pay our government to provide (things that, as time goes on, our government is failing miserably to provide). You know, a national highway system that doesn't fall apart, health care for our children, help when our cities are destroyed by natural disasters, etc.
Liberals could be moving away for a variety of reasons: they don't like the direction the country is heading, they don't like the decline of the public schools, they don't like the fact that taxes here are going to have to be drastically raised in the near future to pay for historic national debt, etc., etc., etc.
Or maybe it's because they are embarrassed to be associated with people like you.

Liberal were moving??? Wow did someone stop them to ask what their political affiliation?? Might be they went to Canada looking for work. JOB have been flying out of America at an Alarming rate. Some of these jobs have gone north of the boarder. They might also want so medical coverage for their family and not sponge off of any system.

I don't know but let's send Sean Penn and the rest of liberal Hollywood with them. Then the US will be tension-free and Canada will be stressed.

Life is better in Canada for some people with skills .
Canada has strict requirements on who can live in Canada .
You can visit and not leave but it becomes difficult when you want legal work .

The news article doesn't mention the word "liberal" at all -- which makes your assumption that all of the people who moved being liberal is very dubious.
But assuming you are correct -- because the US is becoming more and more of a fascist country every year -- and there is no clear indication that is going to change any time soon.
So, some people are getting out now -- just like many people fled from Germany in the years before Hitler took over. And many people fled from Russia at the time of the revolutions.
We currently have a govt that is actively trying to destroy the separation of powers, and install a presidency where one person is immune from all laws, and able to ignore any limitations (even constitutional mandates) that he doesn't like.
That's not the first step towards fascism -- that's well along the path down the slope. So, many people have decided that if they can't fight it -- they might as well get out while they can.

George Bush. he's almost taking funds out of the middle type and giving to the suited one million %. in actual fact that the middle type is shrinking, and the hollow between the wealthy and undesirable is getting larger. this is our concern. want to experiance a rustic with the priority of having very almost no middle type? Why do not you progression to Mexico then. -Libs do not want a vulnerable protection tension. it particularly is purely assumed on account that Reps want a loopy quantity of protection tension spending, the Libs would desire to wish none. not authentic. -gay marriage ~ in my opinion, no, i would not have a concern with gay marriage. i think of the government ought to stay out of folk's very own lives. i presumed cons used to wish that too? -third trimester abortions - i don't comprehend all and sundry who helps that, and it very almost in no way happens ~ until the mummy's existence is in threat. -evaluating libs to Nazi's. Maybe they value humanitarianism over patriotism. Canada has the highest quality of life as well. Movement does not always equal retreat. You should remember that when you listen to Iraq war rhetoric.
