has anyone been to oz moving to sydney and never been before? am i mad?

Sydney is a diverse and beautiful city. It is clean, friendly, and you don't always require a car to get around because the public transportation is excellent (in fact, all this is true for the whole of Australia!) However, at the end of the day, it's all down to personal taste. I would suggest that you go there for a week before you make a full decision on whether you would really like to live there (if it's not too late to do so already), and keep in mind that it's quite a pricy place to live.

i have 2 say, Sydney is world's one of the best city 2 live in:) You will find everything u need here. and u will meet so many different people from different cultures, it's amazing. And the most important thing is it's not that expensive. Well, in time it will become like London or NY. But for now u can chill real well here:)

Depends.
If you are a yank you will love Sydney.
When you come to Sydney you will feel as if you haven't left america.
We have 15 feet fences sounding the city with razor wire on top,police snipers on top of buildings,identifications papers required to move from one sector to another,mobile phones will not receive/make a call,restaurants only allowed to have plastic knifes,when the fire works are on the harbor you must not watch as the fire works are for the "Chosen" few.

You'll love it. If Australia is Oz, then Sydney is the Emerald City - which is the name David Williamson gave to his play about Sydney. Many migrants start in Sydney. It must be doing something right, most of them stay and it is Australia's largest city.
