I am formerly of CA myself and the first thing you need to do is get your CPR/FirstAid certification. Then I would suggest going for a license in DayCare. Go to a vocational center and they will have the information you need for that. Once you get everything you need just start advertising. It could be very rewarding as when you run a licensed Daycare in your home, virtually everything in your home becomes a tax write off.

Where at in CA? On the www.vvmsl.com site, there is a home for sale that includes a childcare service, with a separate entrance, classroom, play yard, etc. It is beautiful. You would go the that site and choose businesses in victorville and you will find it.
Of course you would have to move there to acquire it, but, it is a buyer's market right now!

Licensing is done on a county level here. After you get your license just sign up with 4 C's and you will be at capacity in no time.

Check with the state licensing board. If you are serious, they have guidelines. And may have programs or contacts to help fund a startup.

contact your local Department of Children and Families. they do the licensing for child cares.
