We recently cleaned our house and tried to clean our tuop bedroom windows which had some sort of clear water looking stains on them. My mom thinks its acid rain or something and we`ve tried vinegar, window cleaner plus, rubbing alcohol, amonia, and two other cleaners offered by some window specialists. Wondering if anybody else has any suggestions on removing window stains. Also, I don`t know if this has any importance but my dad thinks the windows are defective and trapped some water in between the panes or something. I`ve seen at least 3 of our neighbors replacing their upper level bedroom windows as well as their sliding glass door. Is it defective or can I try something else to clean it?

If your windows are double paned, then the seal has broken trapping moisture inbetween which then clouds the window. The window will have to be replaced and resealed.

Yes your Dad sounds correct. The insulated window has moisture between the two pains. The only thing you can do now is replace the glass or the entire window.

I found that rubbing it with a melon can work well . Either that or replace the window with a picture of the outside on a nice day - this has he double positive effect of not having to be cleaned and brightening up your mood when its raining .
