I know that many black people do not support white children being victims. But to the black people who are protesting the punishment of 6 black men who beat up a white child...shame on you!

I think the issue is the severity of the charges. It also did not work in the reverse when white kids beat up a black student. I mean, if you are going to make it fair then make it the same for everyone. I am not black but that whole situation seems over the top. These are school kids and it needed to be handled a different way.
I don't think they were trying to murder anyone. They were kids fighting and because they were black and the "victim" was white they were punished excessively.
Kids fight in school. Do whatever they allow in that state (expulsion, suspencion, paddling, detention etc) but lets not go overboard AND if you black and white kids have to be punished the same way for the same thing.

Bottom line. Put ONE black punk against that kid and there is a different outcome. Come on blacks, you really need 6? The saying is "Man up" not "Men up". As far as the protest, of course they would protest. Maybe the Duke Lacrosse players and Don Imus should be ther too. Their careers weren't attempted to be murdered, their careers were murdered! Okay, you don't know the whole story. People aren't protesting to get the defendants off but protesting for a fair trail, what they did was a crime but the sentence doesn't equal the punishment. That is why they protesting.

The black teenagers were retaliating for the beating one of them got from several teenage whites the night before. The whites were released without being charged. There had been racial tension in the town for several weeks. The blacks wanted to sit under a tree that whites liked to sit under. When they did, the white kids started putting nooses in the tree, an obvious reference to KKK and lynching. I don't have to remind you that segregation has been illegal, in this country, since 1965. Hanging nooses at night is as cowardly a tactic as the robed and masked KKK have been using for over a century.

THEY ARE PROTESTING THE OUTRAGES CHARGES THAT THE DA PUT ON THOSE BOYS. NOW I DO NOT THINK THAT THOSE BOYS DESERVE THOSE CHARGES AT LEAST NOT TO THAT DEGREE. EXCEPT FOR THE BELL BOY. HE SEEMS TO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH BEHAVING HIMSELF HE NEEDS A LITTLE TIME IN JAIL. BUT IT IS NOT ABOUT THE WHITE PEOPLE BEING A VICTIM. IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT TEENAGERS FIGHTING IN SCHOOL IS A COMMON THING. HELL I WAS JUMPED BY 9 PEOPLE WHEN I WAS IN JR. HIGH AND NO ONE WENT TO JAIL. THEY ARE KIDS. JUST HAPPENED THAT THERE WERE SOME RACE ISSUES ATTACHED TO IT. ALL OF IT IS OUTRAGES ON THE WHITE AND BLACK SIDE.
