I am not a lib but I can answer that from my own experiences. Conservative white males tend to be conservative because of one hot button issue. If they are rabidly pro gun, pro life, pro death penalty etc., that becomes the most important issue in their lives. It would not matter if the conservatives want to end Social Security disability and it is the only income of their mother. They will NOT vote for a Democrat if only One of them is for ANY type of gun control. Even if the Senator is in Mass. and they live in Arkansas and both of their senators are pro gun and Democrats, they will not get their votes. They will give up everything they have for this one issue. Then, because this issue happens to be a conservative value, they fall in line with all conservative values, even if they starve over it. I have seen it. I lost one of my best friends over it.

I don't have a problem. My grandad is conservative, and I respect and admire him.
You're question is both dead wrong and stereotypical. Don't make assumptions of other people just because it makes it easier for you to see the world. An entire people can't be described by a single word or idea, and most people can't either.

I guess because most conservative white males come off as pompous a holes who try to act like they are holier then everyone else. While doing the same deeds they criticize others for.

The premise of your question is invalid, since it assumes a condition that is not reality.
Liberals as a group do not dislike conservative white males as a group.
Liberals as a group do object to anyone trying to control other people and take away their choices -- and the demographic group most likely to try and control other people is (statistically) conservative white males.
So, it's not because they are conservative white males. It's anyone who engages in a particular behavior, and that stereotype just happens to engage in that behavior most.
