Today Bush announced that the economy was really doing quite well.

Why does this guy always say the opposite of what we can plainly see? And why do so many accept his absurd version of reality?

Fear of truth?

LOL love the serious psychology notion of cognitive dissonance.
Its shocking hes optimistic about the economy but on closer examination he says ask the economists. Makes little sense to me.

His comment was that it was doing well, despite "a few unsettling events".

Yes, cognitive dissonance -- the inability to understand the reality of a situation and the consequences arising from it.

And your example proves what?

The economy is strong, even with the housing market taking a tumble.

Unemployment is way down, revenue and the GNP is up.

The dollar took a hit..

Big deal, we'll live.

I say you are wrong. The economy is booming. There are more people working now, than ever before, average wages are higher than ever before. We even have jobs for illegals.
If you don't see it, you have to be a liberal...with blinders on.
