LOL No you do not need a degree to classify a genius. Not all natrually skilled people need to prove that they are clever by having a degree. You might not want to go to university, or you might prefer a more practical and less academic career path to follow.

Ive worked with college students who have been taken on in the school holidays I must say a lot of them are quite unintelligent,in fact I would go so far as to say, they were thick.

Child genius's can start at any age, some have been given that distinction as early as 4 years old,

Having a college degree has no bearing whatsoever on intelligence. Just on determination. You can be a genius and lazy as sin or a doctorate and an average IQ and a good work ethic

Genius has nothing to do with qualifications. It is excelling in a given skill far beyond the abilities of ordinary mortals. That skill can be a physical craft or mental ability (including imagination), or an ability to combine the two in a uniquely gifted way.

I don't think degrees and genius are related in any way.

Genius is always individual and exemplary whereas degrees are common have limited meaning.

People who are skilled in all aspects used to be described as Renaissance (Men).

You don't have to have a degree to be classified a genius. There are a lot of kids that are so smart that they are classified to be a genius.

Judging by some of the products I see coming out of college, I'd say that it's points against you if you have a degree.
