Another good reference to dispel the false belief that science and religion are incompatible is "The Convergence of Science and Religion", by Charles Townes, Nobel Prize winner in Physics, Templeton Prize winner, etc.
Unfortunately, the idea that things like evolution and cosmology somehow diminish God seems to have taken hold in the minds of many fundamentalists to the extent that they reject knowledge that is both true and supportive of the "fundamental" ideas of their faith!

Not necessarily. Evolution and god are not incompatible. Truth is, when I look at the sheer number of things that had to be just right for life to form, and if any one of them had been different there would be no life on earth, it makes it hard to say it's all just a coincidence. But that doesn't prove the existence of god, which is why I'm a firm believer that religion and science should be kept 100% seperate. We can discuss god and such subjects in the proper context, as a philisophical inquiry. But religious beliefs should not influence scientific theory in any way.

What do you propose might we ever take a classon those matters? we are compelled to sit down down through technology training that taught us and are coaching our babies and doctrine/theory that has yet to be proved. in spite of the undeniable fact that, the alternative theory, Creationism/smart layout, can not study area through area via fact it fairly is felt that it fairly is non secular. Evolution HAS not been proved. tell me how a paramecium developed? Its' flagellum, basic yet complicated on an identical time, how did the tail, cellular wall, and inner motor finally end up prepare so good? have been all of them separated? This organism likes issues very plenty on a superb keel, it would not like fluctuations. It would not flourish with too many variables. So we are speaking fairly basic, yet complicated through layout. Take the Earth next. Our orbit is genuinely suited for us and for existence to exist. in spite of the undeniable fact that, slightly nearer to the solar and we are a desolate tract planet, too some distance and we are an ice cube. yet you want me to have faith that it has befell by twist of destiny, that random aspects have been what contributed to my lifestyles on a planet that may not have an equivalent interior the universe? Sorry, I used to assert smart layout and evolution would desire to co-exist yet now I say it replaced into basically through a writer that the photograph voltaic gadget, universe, me, you, the planets, and the paramecium are right here good now having this communication. i admire my God and thank Him every day for waking up. I pray that faith and technology gets back collectively back via fact the two are finding for an identical component, purely going approximately it in different techniques. in spite of the undeniable fact that it style of feels that they are taking off to converge back.

let me get this straight, if a person believes in God then they obviously never studied evolution or the sciences related to it thus they are stupid otherwise why do they still believe in God?. your busted for your presumption. I studied it big time, was a lover of biology in school, and wasn't a Jehovah witness at the time.
I would ask why don't people believe in God, haven't they taken the time to study the evidence? if they don't believe in God obviously they havent taken the time to study the evidences for it otherwise they would believe in God!. so they must be stupid.
no the reality is many do study the evidences and decide to accept one or the other. many do just take one side of the issue without asking questions or checking both sides of an issue. But many do, and thus not all who believe in either are necessarily well in the know or not.

Some of them, yes. As you can see from one of the answers you've already received. But a lot of them understand evolution and some astronomy - they just want to believe there's a god behind it, so they do. As long as they don't try to get it taught in schools or say it's science, I don't care what they believe.

Your question displays ignorance about both Christians and the history of science. Try reading the reference for a more accurate perspective.

People NEED God. They may believe in him but above all else they need him. When something comes along, and your pastor and everyone you have listened to your whole life says "evolution goes against the existence of god" of course they are going to completely shut down. They need there to be something after we die, so of course they don't want to believe that there is nothing after death.
Most of the people that do this are sheep and I really do feel sympathy for them. Science is a fascinating subject, and to alienate yourself from it is just a shame.

YES... they are VERY ignorant people. Most have NEVER studied ANYTHING about SCIENCE... and all they know is they react to some idiotic buzz word about man coming from apes rather than knowing the ENTIRE story... They are also the same stupid people who still insist on calling Darwin's Origin of the Species a THEORY... and it hasn't been a THEORY for over 100 YEARS... it is a PROVEN SCIENCE... and that is a lot more than you can say about intelligent design.
