Well use PEMDAS
Parentheses
Exponent
Multiply
Divide
Add
Subtract
If you follow this rule it should work:
1. 3 x 8 -(9-7)
Do what is in the parentheses
9-7 = 2
2. 3 x 8 -(2)
Now do the multiplication
3 x 8 = 24
3. 24 - 2
Do the simple problem
24 - 2 = 22
So your answer is 22
