There has been a hate campaign which included accusations of murder, sexual ridicule, other constantly repeated ridicule . This would not be allowed in other media will we now see an ISP trace on these people?

Libel is libel and the publishing media does not come into it, where you publish libel is irrelevant. Many people have been arrested and charged and are in prison because of what was said on the internet this is fact. The Yahoo haters have made 1000s of libellous statements shown to be false this is also fact.

There is a definite case for libel, as you say 1000s of accusations of murder have been made and sexual and other libel. Also you are right there are people in prison NOW because of Internet statements, perhaps some could be traced and arrested.

No ones innocence is clear at any point. That's like saying that anyone who hasn't been named as a suspect is innocent. Hell no! If it isn't Murat or the McCanns does that mean that no one is guilty? No it doesn't.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions on the outcome of this case and no one can say that the McCanns are guiltless. I'm not part of the McCann haters and really believe that they will be devastated by that night for the rest of their lives. The bottom line is that even if they didn't cause any actual harm to their daughter they set the scene which allowed it to happen. They left her alone in that hotel room.

If the Jon Benet Ramsey case has taught us anything it's that unless someone is officially charged and sentenced then the original suspects will always be considered guilty to some degree.

It would be hilarious to see. The police would waste their time tracing all the addresses and then go through the paperwork for taking people to court. After they had wasted all that time they would then find that most of the people on here have no money or are under the age of 18. I'd love to see it happen as it would be known as the biggest waste of time in history. You can't sue everyone for slander as Bush would be raking money in if you could.

Mike, the internet is a place where anything can be discussed. It is in the public arena.
It covers various continents with different laws. All can contribute with varying views, thats what makes it an interesting exchange.
Why is it that u feel that need to control it.
If you feel uncomfortable with it why r u using it to exchange your point of view, which u have by using this Yahoo site. You dont make sense man!

No, but if and when they're locked up for life I shall make personally sure that I come and sue you for libeling me by saying i've been libeling them.

Mind you, thinking about their obsession with money, they probably will.

Just because the judge rejected the prosecutors request does not mean they are adjudicated as innocent. It just means there is not enough evidence. The family spokesman is who said they are "utterly innocent".
Even if not guilty of murder they left children alone in a room while they went and ate. I mean, seriously, this is not a sign of an amzingly skilled parent. If nothing more they are guilty of a gross error in judgment that may have led to the death of their daughter. I mean, if they had not left the kids alone, this would not have happend.
What is Yahoo going to do, trace every ISP that says something negative about someone else?

This is a discussion board - very different and not a form of 'media'. People don't (or at least shouldn't) come here for information. They are here to discuss ideas, events, occourances and happenings. They are here to exchange opinions. No one has stated anything other than their opinion and, thankfully, we are still allowed to voice that.

If you would rather you not allow people that privilege I suggest you toddle of to live under a regime like that of Mugabes.

innocent of what? Is it libel to say they are GUILTY of neglect for leaving 3 young children on their own at night? Its simply called free speech. If you are allowed your views surely others are allowed theirs too?

How can they be innocent when they admitted they left their kids alone that night, to go out for a meal? I haven't seen an official announcement that they are innocent, where did you get this information that they are in the clear?

Another deliberately inflammatory statement based on lies made up by misrepresenting facts. Either that or you have the reading age of a 3 year old.

Shut up and climb back in to your hole and stop with the pathetic attention seeking.

If this is representative of the intelligence of people supporting the McCanns, no wonder so many people don't trust them.

You hurt your own "cause" with this trollish bullshit, but then you're probably too braindead from reading McCann-brown-nosing tabloids to realise that.
