We were just talking about this at work yesterday. Someone was talking about smelling burnt toast before you have a stroke. I dont know if its true but I have heard it from more than one person.

Some people report smelling a burning object (commonly toast) with a heart attack. However, stroke affects the olfactory as well, so burning smells have been reported with that, too. I had someone who smelled burning hair with a stroke once.

No. Although it has been reported that people who quit smoking smell strange things. They smell gasoline, smoke, etc. So, it is possible to detect smells that aren't there... but I don't think it is a sign of a stroke or heart attack.

is that a superstition? hmm definitely no, unless if there's an old belief like that, like a superstition lolz

heart attack and strokes won't give signs, they just attacks! but there are symptoms that MIGHT be a sign of heart attack and strokes

for heart attack: palpitation, intermittent pain close to the chest
for strokes: pain at the back part of your neck, some muscular tics

hehe , that's just my opinion, im not a doctor =P
