and bash all of the christians and believers, but yet, you don't see the religous people come on here and bash the non-believers and atheist? Why is that?

I am not trying to be mean or start a fight, I just find it very curious and disturbing, that's all.

Well, I am a believer and I see both of what you describe going on here. Personally I think we should just not pick on each other about our beliefs. I don't have any right to pick on you or bash you for your beliefs and vica versa. But, it still happens.

I just try to avoid the people that try to hurt me. But mostly I think that the good people far outweigh the bad on here (and that goes for the believers and the non-believers).

People are always searching for the Truth, whether they know it or not. This may be the only place they get to read about Christianity. Before I was a Christian I was not a very nice person and would put others down and make fun of them. Wow, then it happened, I met Jesus. It was the best choice I have ever made. Some religious people are cruel to the atheists which is not right!

For one... I think you are simply blind due to your own bias.

Yes, I know some people bash, but why do you think I (a non believer) was drawn to questions in the religious section in the first place? I only ever looked here because Christians and other believers were saying crap about us. There are plenty of believers who bash us. Even if you don't want to believe it, its the truth.

P.S. You aren't even in the R&S...

Huh? Religious people bash atheists people all the time. If I were to post a question about abortion and say that I don't think it's wrong, I'm pretty sure I'd get the whole eternal damnation thing thrown back at me. A lot of religious people like to get on their high horse and feel superior to atheists. This doesn't refer to all of them of course, but some. Open your eyes!

are you kidding? do you know how many times non-believers are told they're going to burn in hell or are unamerican because they don't believe? some of the most ignorant questions and answers i've seen have been posted by believers. non-believers come to R&S because they have every right to discuss it. it doesn't belong to anyone, and no one has certain rights to it. just because someone is an atheist doesn't mean they can't have a logical and thought provoking conversation with someone that does believe. i can't wait to see what other atheists have to say about this question. and if i were you, i'd spend some time looking at posts made my athesists and see what kind of nonsense some of your christian fellows have to say.

I personally think its because followers of a religon live by certain rules. When the religion is part of the government of a country, these rules will apply to all citizens, athiest or not. Religion and state should be separate and this would not happen. It might be a bit of envy on their part, too. In times of stress, belief in God is a great comfort. Imagine not having that?

You see religious people criticizing all the time? Where have you been? I am a New Orleans Voodooist - and some Christians (and other religious people) bash me, bash atheists, bash everyone who doesn't follow their path - and if they don't bash, usually they are trying to convince me that I am going to hell and need to change my ways!

You dont know me very well do you? I take all sides and engage in confrontation of belief, values, and opinions. The more you know about how everyone thinks the better your understanding of all things. Do not live in a sheltered world. Living a bias is ignorance. Getting info from one source is foolish. After all God and Satin are brothers. You should accept the whole family.

Don't generalize. I'm not religious and I haven't bashed anyone. No matter where you post there are people that will say things just to be mean. You are going to have to be a little thicker skinned....

I am not an atheist but I'm willing to bet my beliefs are not yours. So, speaking from a neutral perpective I can honestly say I have seen an equal amount of argument and "bashing" from both sides. Please don't be lulled into the erronious belief that there are not Christians on here doing their utmost to press their beliefs on others.
