Darn - when GD and KISS is called out already
what remains, Queen? Pink Floyd? Of course
there is Zappa, but true fans refuse to be devotional.

In my opinion, the test of devotion comes AFTER a band has had its popular and/or critical heyday.

The biggest U2 fans for example are not the ones that saw them on the JOSHUA TREE tour but the ones who saw them on the POP tour (that one seems to have the most consensus as the worst release by the band).

For that reason, no matter how "crazy" or ardent fans of My Chemical Romance, Jonas Brothers or any other currently popular act might be, it's hard to say they're the MOST devoted precisely because it's socially acceptable to be a fan. The true fans still like their band even when it means they'll be perceived as the musical equivalent of a "Trekkie".

On that score, I'd say Grateful Dead and KISS fans are probably in a double tie. They both are happy to acknowledge their fandom even though it may get them branded a "hippie" or "musically retarded". I can appreciate the loyalty even I'm not a fan of either band really.

Not a band, but I think Bob Dylan has some pretty devoted fans. Many sites are devoted to him. Some websites even document Dylan's concerts.

If we're really looking for a band, I say Led Zeppelin. They already got 25 million requests for very expensive tickets, and there are only 20,000 seats. Plus, the site selling the tickets crashed with 120 million hits!

I have no idea...

Back in the day, it could have been the Grateful Dead. I recently went to a Bob Dylan concert and it sold out within 20 minutes of the tickets going on sale (they extended the concert to two days instead of one because of it) which was a record for the Ryman Auditorium. However, have you read anything about the uproar over Led Zeppelin tickets?

Mostly the older bands like Metallica, Iron Maiden, Led Zepplin, Ozzy

Hell we were in Vans last month and they were selling Iron Maiden Killer High Tops. If that isn't a sign of faithfulness I don't know what is!!!

There is no doubt about it: The Grateful Dead. These people are equal shares amazing and nicely demented. Personally, I didn't care for the Dead in the Sixties, and I still don't listen to their music much unless a song pops up during a documentary.

The Deadheads are freaky, fun, loyal, and true to their group.

Read about them, and maybe you'll agree:

In my opinion, it has to be Rush. I've never seen more devoted fans of a group and how quickly they put down other people who makes disparaging comments about them.
