Do you mean "what is $1 worth today in standards of the Ren. period"
You would have to find out what a day's wages were in those days and compare it to today.
Even if you look at the mid 1800's the pay was little. One group of workers were looking at an increase in pay. They wanted "8 hours work, 8 hours play, 8 hours sleep and 8 bob (80 cents) a day." In these terms, one of these workers would be paid $4.00 per week. Today, if anyone gets less than $400 per week they are low income earners. A factor of 400

The Renaissance period was way before this. The average working day was 12 hours and pay would have been about
20 cents per day. You could buy much more with 20 cents than you can today, though.

Hope this helps.
