You need to study history a bit closer.
Muslim armies had conquered much of northern Africa, Egypt, Palestine, Syria, and Spain, which had been some of the most heavily Christian areas in the world.
Thousands, and possibly millions, of Christians died during this drive to eventually bring the entire world under Islam.
The First Crusade was launched in 1095 by Pope Urban II to check the advance of the Muslims and regain control of the city of Jerusalem and the Holy Land.
I am sure that some atrocities were committed by both sides during this war but by most people's judgment this was a just war.

i've got heard it instructed as greater human beings then have been killed in WW1 &WW2 mixed. As a pagan i've got heard some say as many as 9 million over the years. yet this might have wiped out a good number of the inhabitants of earth on the time & is unreasonable, so the quantity historians seem to come back up with is 3 million.

Then you must be sincere in your lack of knowledge that previous to the Crusades the radicals took over by force much land-in a 'jihad'.
Also if you research Hitler & the Iatollah emergence you would discover a previous 'footprint' with an idea or overthrown leader played a part.
Suggesting Christians as in 'Christ-followers' were entrusted to wage peace & helping your neighbor NOT going about seeking riches no matter what the hell it brought.

Near Eastern religions are disgusting belief systems. The god of Abraham is bloodthirsty. Every once in a while, it demands a blood bath. Ancestors of northern Europeans should liberate themselves from this flawed way of thinking that enslaves their minds and lies to them about their history. They should look to their old religion, the Aesir for their comfort.

Why is it that, if I dare mention St. Bill or even St. Jimmy (Carter), I get whined at about living in the past, but you can bring up the Crusades?
It was 1,000 years ago. I think it's safe to move past it now. How many Catholics riot and murder people over cartoons that mock their beliefs? How many Catholics behead people? How many Catholics fly planes into building, slaughtering thousands of innocent people for the "crime" of going to work?
And Huffington Post is *not* a reputable source. That's almost like using prisonplanet.

It doesn't matter. Religious people kill in the name of god all the time no matter what their religious affiliation. It's part of the "my god has a bigger di*k then your god" syndrome.
If people actually practiced the peace and love that just about every religion including Islam teaches then we wouldn't have these problems.

The Catholic church has not declared a holy war on the infidels in the world - Islam has - and that is where the worlds terrorists are being harbored. By the way, infidels are anyone that is not a Muslim.
