i cant figure out how to get my laptop hard drive to come apart so i get a paper i wrote off it for school, its a compaq presario 2100 does anyone know anything?

Check for a sliding switch in the very front of the laptop...slide it slightly and the laptop will unfold (Open)

The hard drive is located on the bottom of the laptop, I believe near the front. There are either 2 or 3 screws holding it on...it's right on the side. You can go to the following site to download a manual that will tell you exactly how to do it:

ummm, you shouldn't haved opend your laptop in the first place, are you saying that it wont start and you cant get your project to school?
