can i still claim compensation if i didn't press charges and the incident occured 1 yr ago?
im in england so the laws in different countries may vary

moggle shut up. you dn't know anything surrounding my case or what happened and i had very good reason to drop the charges!! idiot

if you were injuried somehow, the Statute of Limitations governs how long you have to file a claim. it's two years from the incident in Ireland, not sure about the UK but it might be 6 years.

If you are talking about compensation in the civil courts (eg accidents claims etc) the time limit for starting the process is 3 years to the day of injury

no. You refuse to cooperate with the investigation. Why should my tax go to compensate you if you won't stand up for yourself. I would happily pay for someone willing to do the right thing and the offender was never found, but you just want some cash. Try no win no fee and sue the guy. Be brave don't scrounge off the state for your compensation.
