I am totally in awe at how well propaganda and lies work on Republicans. The majority of them believe the swift boat lies. They demonize what was said about Petreaus and if you look at the add, it was factually correct. The biggest thing was that the word "Betrayus" was used. That doesn't hold a candle to what the did to John Kerry. A man who earned a Silver Star and Bronze Star. Just how pathetic and low can they get.
Great question, where were the Republicans speaking out then? I listened a bit to Hannity today and he was going on and on about the Democrats need to speak out against MoveOn..... Where was he in 2004?? He sure as heck wasn't demanding the Republicans speak out against the swift boat lies.

Republicans have been on the attack since the ad last week accusing General Petraeus of betraying the public trust by "cooking the books" and presenting politicized facts to Congress.
Why? They're flailing. Last week's Bush Administration PR blitz completely failed—the percentage of Americans favoring withdrawal from Iraq actually increased. Meanwhile, vulnerable Republicans are sinking lower and lower in the polls (or announcing their retirement). Bashing MoveOn is a way to distract the public—and intimidate war critics.
This morning the Senate was expected to vote on a resolution condemning MoveOn. This is the same Senate that has done nothing to change President Bush's policy on Iraq. Yesterday, they couldn't even pass a bill to give soldiers enough leave with their families before redeploying. But they have plenty of time to crack down on folks who criticize the war. It's ridiculous, it's un-American, and it's wrong.

Well, MoveOn.org is about 90% credible. The swift boat veterans promoted outright lies and deceipt with almost every statement they issued. So there is a big difference.
But you're right, it is a bit hypocritical, isn't it? Then again, the RNC (aka NAMBLA) is kinda reknowned for that.

Because it was bush's friends and supporters who set up the not-so-swift-traitors in the first place. He couldn't condemn them because he was intimate with them. Bush defended Petraeous because he went before Congress and read the paper that bush and friends wrote for him to write. The attack on the general was also an attack on bush. MoveOn.Org was completely correct as well.

If you are a democrat, then you too should stand up to MoveOn's constant whining. It's easy to point out the problems, how about some solutions that are workable, MoveOn? At any rate, attacking Petraeus' name demonstrates they lack any ability to attack his message or facts.

Do you not see the difference in an ad criticizing a politician like Kerry and a non-political general just confirmed 100-0 by the Senate. Politics is not supposed to be used against our generals and military.
