you are working alone and your shift is due to be over at 6 P.M. The individual who is scheduled to begin working at 6 does not show up. What do you do? Please explain!

If you are the only one in the store, then you call the owner or manager (depending on who you normally report to), and inform them of the problem! If you are the only one in your department, you page the manager on duty. They may ask you to stay late, and if you can, you end up with some overtime!
If you are the store manager on duty, you most likely will have to stay to cover the shift!

call a manager. it's not your job to work for the person yet if you're the only one at the store you can't leave it alone. however if there are workers in other departments then they can't make you stay. you're not the one who ditched work.

You can call your supervisor and explain the problem but dont leave or you wont be going back. It often happens and sometimes its unavoidable but if the other worker makes a habit of it report it to your boss.

you call your manager..its the managers responsiblity to place another worker or even work it himself if your shift is over.
