1.Yes, let them know up front because if they find out after they hire you, they will terminate you. Don't lie, it's in your best interest even if you don't get the job.
2.Now if its just a job that you want, to carry you for a few months and your desperate for work lie. Remember lie only if they will conduct the background check after they hire you. Point of information most job will do background check before they hire a person.
3.Don't lie if you plan to be with the company for years and or if the company is going to pay you top dollars these type of company will do a background check right before they hire you. Good luck

Yes, you do but, you can explain it to them. If you don't tell them and they find out you could be fired for lying. Also if they do a background check, they'll find out you lied. It's better to just tell the truth.A conviction is a conviction.

when you pled guilty, was it to a felony?
if so, then yes.
they ask to supliment the background check they are going to perform on you, so you might as well be honest about it up front.
